Abstract

A method to simulate an arbitrary shadow moiré system, including three-dimensional curved gratings, is presented. Based on geometric optics, the influence of different system parameters, such as the surface shape of the grating and the system alignment, on the moiré pattern is treated. The results of the presented simulation are in good agreement with those obtained in the case of a real system.
