Abstract

Modified matched spatial filters for shift-invariant multiclass multiobject distortion-invariant object recognition are described. Filter synthesis involves forming an orthonormal basis function set from training set data and selecting coefficients using classic Fisher and mean-square-error techniques. Initial experimental results are provided.
