Silicon oxynitride; a material for GRIN optics

Abstract

The usefulness of the SiO2–Si3N4 system for gradient-index optics has been investigated. Dispersion data, temperature dependence of the refractive index, and physical properties are presented. Preparation techniques are discussed.
